Cheesy Burger and My Cheesy Wife

Posted on

My wife withdraw my pay for this month and you know what happened? She treated me to a burger meal. I got a treat with my own money.

The burger patty was great, but the cheese was too big and salty. Too big that it dwarfed the patty itself. With every bite that I took, all I could taste was the cheese.

And as if I wasn’t having enough cheese already, my wife kept telling me cheesy jokes. Super cheesy talaga!

But she’s lovely as always, even with the lame jokes. :)

Was I to complain much? Nah! She gave me a great massage tonight.

How many Christmas gifts did you get?

I received just a few gifts last Christmas, perhaps a testament to the situation of the country’s economy. I am not complaining that I got a few gifts, that’s just material things. It just got me thinking about the financial situation of my family and friends. And me as well.

I admit that I was also hit with some financial problems last year, but here I am standing still. I was able to solve most of these problems, typical financial problems that people, who are earning just enough experience when they finally plan to tie the knot.

:)

That is why I am very much hopeful that the year 2010 would be much kinder to me, my family and my friends in terms of our finances. We all deserve some more comfort after all the hardships we experienced.

Leftover New Year Celebration Food

Posted on

We still have one whole ham, some barbecue, lots of fruits, flan, and more in our fridge. It’s the usual thing: we cook more food that we could actually eat and our neighbors also sent us some New Year’s gift of their own cooking. Is it too much? Yes, but only because it is our tradition to celebrate it grandly (in our own grand way) so that there will be nothing but good luck and prosperity for this coming year.

I am actually looking forward to eating the ham as it’s the only thing I didn’t have last Christmas and New Year celebration dinners. It’s an all-meat ham and really looks tasty.

There are so many things we are thankful for the past year, but we are more thankful that we are beginning a new life together, as husband and wife, this 2010.

Getting Fed Up With TV Ads

TV ads of politicians, that is. Why? Because they all have one message: that they will solve poverty. I mean, who can solve poverty? Even the United States, the richest and most powerful country in the world, also has poverty within its borders. No country can completely eradicate poverty. Lessen it, yes that is possible. But completely remove it from our midst? I doubt it.

I just hope that our candidates for the various government elected positions would just spend their campaign funds in informing the public about their achievements and what they can do should they be elected.

But please, leave out all of these delusions that they are the country’s savior. What we need is someone who will lead us, not save us because no one man can do that. Only the Lord can do that and even His work is not yet done after thousands of years.

I know what I am wishing here is impossible because what I am asking for is honesty from people who wouldn’t normally show it. Or worse, even possess it.
