With the price of rice going up, who can afford to eat all the rice that they can? Especially for us Filipinos, since rice is our staple food, it really hurts our budget (and our hearts) whenever the price of such commodities go up.
Gas prices are also up. Sugar prices are up. Cement prices are up. Flour prices are up. The pandesal price is also up. Almost everything that we need has gone up.
I surely hope that the government can remedy this because the Filipino budget is no longer as flexible as it used to be. Our salaries do not increase in relation to the continuous price increase of our basic commodities. Is there an end in sight for all of these?
The national elections is fast approaching and the candidates are all very busy right now campaigning. If there’s just one of those presidentiables who can state his point-by-point action plan to solve these price hikes, I will give him my vote. But right now all that they have in their platforms are generalizations.
